MAINE!!

Well we made it to Maine without incident! Thank the Lord for traveling mercies! Tonight's show was put on by the Light FM. I really mean this when i say it: These people were great!! It was very evident that those who were in charge of tonight's show had prayerfully preprared for this event. It is our prayer that whatever seeds that were planted tonight will be nutured by both the radio station and the staff and members of Calvary Temple. Now we are off to Connecticut!

Weekend in Iowa

We spent this weekend in Spencer, Iowa. Saturday night we played in the middle school auditorium. On sunday we played at Grace United Methodist. The people in Iowa were great. I had never been to Iowa before and it was a great first exposure to Iowa. These were the first concerts in which the band's manager had got to see them with me as the drummer. Scott, their manager, a great guy (kind of like a older brother for the band.)

the kit

For those of you who lean to the percussive side of life here is a picture of my drum set.
It is a Gretsch Catalina Club Rock Kit.
It has a 24"x16" kick, a 14" x 6.5" snare, 13", 16", & 18" toms, with a Pacific 13" auxillary snare.
the cymbals are all Zildjian.

Homewood Church, Homewood IL

We played saturday night and sunday morning at Homewood Church in Homewood IL, which is about 30 minutes outside of Chicago. The folks at the church were great. We showed up, after driving the whole night from Rhode Island, had a quick look around the venue, and ate lunch. The food was excellent! Then it was time to get down to the business. The band got set up, soundchecked, and we were off to the hotel. We stayed at a very nice Holiday Inn not too far from the church. After freshening up at the hotel we went back to the church for dinner and the concert. Dinner was better than lunch, and provided ample energy for that evening's performance. After the show we got the chance to shake a few hands and to talk with the people that came out that night. Also after the show I found some of the brownies that were left over from dinner. yes, they were still good.

Relaxing in Rhode Island

Sorry it has taken so long to update this thing! The internet connections have been hit and miss for the last week or so, so I've got to do some updating. Here we go.

After we played on sunday at the Wood's home church we had the rest of the week off in Rhode Island. Unfortunately the house pictured above is not the house we stayed in. However, the house we did stay in was very nice. It was out in the middle of four national parks on 85 acres. Awesome. The mansion pictured above was the Vanderbilt family's summer home. They only used it for 3 months out of the year. It is over 200.000 square feet. It is located in Newport, RI which is where we ate an excellent seafood lunch.

Rhode Island

We played last night for the hometown crowd (for most of the band) in Glocester, RI. The show was a lot of fun. The crowd was excited and so were we. All in all everyone had a great time. It was nice to meet all of the friends and family of the band. We have a few days off to enjoy beautiful New England we will be hitting the road later this week on our way to Chicago. Your prayers for the band and our travels are greatly appreciated!!!!
